Sport Watches For Men

Tuesday, 6 March 2012

Luminox has become widely known when it comes to developing the best in special ops watches. The Luminox Black Ops 8401 is a newer addition to their special ops watch series, and is a very cool, yet casual seals watch to have.
Each Luminox Navy Seals Special Ops Watch is field tested by the seals themselves. That is the reason why these unique watches are extremely durable, reliable and rugged enough to withstand the abuse when its time to go out in the field.
Like all Luminox wrist watches, the Black Ops 8401 is a Swiss-made dive watch, making it not only durable and long lasting, but a very stylish and everyday casual watch to wear.
The face on the 8401 is a tad bit large and the rubber wrist band is quite long. The reason for this is for visibility and if needed to wrap around your wrist if you have to wear a wet suit. If that is not of any importance, then this would be a very comfortable seals watch to wear.
The special titanium illumination system that is a trademark of Luminox is what makes these watches so special. Unlike the painted versions on other watches. You can see the face extremely clear in an area with very little to no light.
There is a manufacturers warranty of up to two years on all Luminox watches and an amazing ten year manufacturers warranty on the Luminox illumination system.

A Personal Review of Tissot Sports Watches

I am a admirer of Tissot watches and am fortunate enough to own one - a PRS516 Automatic chronograph Tissot T-Sport. What follows are my personal reviews of Tissot sports watches and the current collections.
Tissot produce a large collection of different styles of sports watches that are of excellent quality at reasonable prices. The Tissot PRS516 cost much less than many of my other Swiss watches - my wife and I own some fine watches - but it is as well made and as stylish as any other sports watch. Tissot have been making watches since 1853 and have been instrumental in designing some of the most technically advanced timepieces: the Tissot T-Touch watch is the world's first touch screen wristwatch.
Tissot make an extensive range of sports watches. If you're a serious diver then the Diver Seastar is for you. The Tissot Seastar is an automatic timepiece made with a highly resistant steel case, capably of resisting diving depths of 300 meters. What I particularly like about the Tissot Seastar is its domed sapphire crystal glass, which magnifies numbers on the colored dials; no other diver's watch that I know of has this feature.
The Tissot PR100X sports watch offers more refined elegance. The PR100X Small Lady Tissot watch is a very elegant ladies watch and is one of the most beautiful of ladies sport watches, in my opinion. It is resistant up to 100 meters, has a screw down crown, glass sapphire glass and silver dial. The case is stainless steel as is the bracelet.
The Tissot PR200X is a classic timepiece, with a large face: the most striking models come with a bright yellow sweeping second and counter hands and white indices with clear Arab numbers that stand out boldly against the midnight black dial.
The Tissot PRS200 sports watch remains Tissot's best selling sports watch. It looks rugged but stylish. Its chronograph movement, casing and bracelet in steel or gold color with a choice of silver, black, blue dial, water resistance to 200 meters, make it a very appealing sports watch. Personally I prefer The Tissot PRS516 - after all I did buy it - as PRS516 stands out from other sports watches whereas the Tissot PRS200 looks similar to a lot of other brands.
The Tissot T-Race was designed to reflect the best of all types of two-wheeled sports, from cycling to motorcycle racing. I really like these watches. The case is a stainless steel/carbon composite. The straps are of rubber and come in a variety of colors. The use of pastel colors makes them a good choice as a ladies sports watch. The standard model comes with three small dials, a second hand, 1/10 second hand and 30 minute counter. The Tissot T-Race watches come with quartz chronograph.
Tissot signed an agreement with NASCAR, making Tissot the official timekeeper of America's popular auto-racing. The T-Race NASCAR special edition features carbon dial, with a tough hybrid case of steel and rubber and matching black rubber strap. Inspired by the fans' passion for the sport, the Tissot T-Race NASCAR case back comes with an engraved NASCAR logo and crossed finish flags. Being keenly aware of a sport where 1/100th of second makes the difference between winning and losing, the Tissot NASCAR watch comes with a Swiss chronograph movement. The large, red-colored Arab numerals at 12, 4 and 8 are complemented by the large, industrial looking hour and minute hands. A very nice feature is the magnified crystal above the date display.

The Ultimate Sport Watch For Active Lifestyles

A watch is now more than just a device which tells time, it has also become an icon of style and aesthetic structure. The Swiss Legend brand distinguishes itself from the rest because of its reputation for creating watches with superb quality and elegance. They are the best avenue for someone looking to invest in an exquisite timepiece.
The Swiss Legend Commander line is an ideal place to start for anyone who wants a simple and durable watch without compromising in design. It is great for sporty and active individuals who need a watch that can keep up with their lifestyle.
Commander Chrono
It has Swiss Quartz movement, a stainless steel unidirectional rotating bezel and it is water resistant for up to 100 meters. This makes it ideal for swimming, sailing, snorkeling and various water sports. It is designed with a rubber strap and a handy date display is situated at 4 o'clock.
Commander 3H
This line has similar features with that of the Chrono only that the date display is placed at 3 o'clock. The stainless steel frame and rubber strap makes it a comfortable and useful accessory for outdoor activities. Designs with rose toned and yellow toned steel frames are also available.
Commander Ladies
A line specifically designed for the female clientele boasts water resistance for depths that reach 200 meters. It can be used during diving, swimming and other marine sports and activities. The window is sapphitek crystal which is very durable. The case is available in black, yellow gold, rose and stainless steel frames. The rubber strap comes in a variety of basic and pastel colors.
Commander 3H Bracelet
Its features are similar with the Commander Ladies line except that the face has Roman numerals and the window is a sapphire-coated mineral crystal. It is a superbly durable display which is scratch resistant. The case and strap is brushed and polished stainless steel. It also has a sweeping second hand and the luminous hands make time visible even in the dark. The bezel has uni-rotational movement.
Commander Rubber
It has a hundred percent Swiss Quartz movement and it is water resistant up to 200 meters. The polished stainless steel body comes with a clasp deployment button paired with a rubber strap.
Commander Rubber IP
The stainless steel body is ion plated for more durability and protection. The screwed-down crown has handy function pushers. A deployment clasp is also incorporated into the frame for the rubber strap. The display for date is positioned at 4 o'clock. The hundred percent Swiss Quartz movement label means it has passed the rigid standards of the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry, the foremost organization that guards the integrity and ensures the quality of Swiss time pieces.
Be careful in considering which watch to choose. Remember that it is an investment worth your time and research. Water resistant watches for depths of 200 meters more are ideal for divers. Features like mechanical movement need more maintenance and provides less accuracy than Quartz movement. Examine different attributes of the watch and determine if it fits your lifestyle.

Finding the Right Men's Sports Watches

Very little importance was placed on early sports watches. All that was required was a timepiece that could keep time. Over the years this has changed dramatically and the men's sports watches of today feature a plethora of features and are available in a vast range of categories to suit different kinds of sports and goals. In today's world it is now advisable to choose a sports watch, only after careful consideration. The following tips will help making choosing one a little easier.
The primary concern when choosing a sports watch is the type of sport you are involved in. Of foremost importance is to analyze the requirements that your new sports watch must fulfill.
If you are buying a watch to accompany you into deep sea diving, then you'll need a watch that can operate in the harsh environment of the deep sea. Your watch must be clearly visible in the lower light levels experienced at these depths and must be able to withstand extreme pressure and corrosiveness of sea water.
Do you do a lot of running? Then you'll be looking at digital running watches. The heart and soul of a digital mens sports watch is the stopwatch or chronograph features and you should opt for a watch that you can view clearly when you are in the middle of a hard run. A sports running watch that can offer you access to more than one screen of customizable data fields will certainly give you an edge in monitoring your real-time fitness statistics.
Most runners will need to keep track of the number of laps they have run and sessions they have done over time. Check the watch's ability to store session logs in memory.
The ability to transfer their data to personal computer for review in a software package can give a runner a powerful method of analysing their performances. Check if the watch can facilitate data transfer to a computer if you feel you need this level of analysis in your performance training routine.
Speaking of running and fitness features, countdown and interval timers provide you with the tools for timed interval training sessions. An interval timer allows a runner to set up timed effort and recovery periods, letting him know when to start or stop. This feature can be useful for a variety of non-running purposes too. Should you wish to pursue an optimal level of fitness monitoring, then you might consider a heart rate monitor device. Most advanced endurance watches are equipped with one or support one as an optional extra.
The purpose of a heart rate monitor chest strap is to monitor your hear beat rate and present you with feedback on your performance over the duration of a fitness activity. A heart rate monitor can help guide you by informing you if your exercise intensity is too high or too low and if you are recovering quickly enough from your last effort.
Advanced watches today can also track speed and distance, whether it is with an accelerometer foot pod device, pedometer, or fully-fledged GPS tracking system. The benefits of speed and distance tracking is immense for runners and other athletes who wish to keep track of their speed, pace, distance travelled and even plot routes of their courses.

Chronograph Watches For Sports

Wearing a chronograph watch gives a statement of sophistication! Many rich and prominent individuals wear chronographs because of its exciting and adventurous look. Yet, not only because of its glamorous image is a chronograph a valuable timepiece, but it is also due to its craftsmanship and complex mechanism.
A chronograph watch is not just a simple timepiece. It is a timepiece with a stopwatch function in addition to regular timekeeping. This feature allows one to measure elapsed time - for example, measuring the duration of a sporting event. Therefore, chronographs have become very popular by many great athletes.
Although a chronograph watch might appear to be very complicated with all its buttons and sub dials, it is actually very simple to use. Following is an easy-to-understand explanation on how this watch works.
Chronograph watches have two buttons on the right side of the case. The top button, the one positioned at around two o'clock, starts and stops the stopwatch. When the button is pressed, a large seconds hand starts moving around the dial, finishing a full round of the dial in 60 seconds. When the button is depressed again, the hand stops moving. So if you want to time the duration of a short event, just depress the top button at the start of the race and again at the exact moment the finishing line is crossed. Now look where the hand stopped - that is how many seconds the race took. Once you have recorded the elapsed time and you want to reset the chronograph hand to its zero position, at twelve o'clock, press the lower right button. You are now ready to start timing your next event! It is that simple! Just start, stop and reset!
Now, what are all the sub dials for?
Firstly, you will see one sub dial which runs continuously in seconds intervals and is not affected by any of the buttons. This is your seconds hand, as opposed to a large hand on the full dial as it is on non-chronographs.
Next, your chronograph might have a sub-dial which is your minute counter. The minute sub dial is used to record events lasting between one to thirty minutes. You press the same top right button which starts the large chronograph hand. Every time the large chronograph hand reaches its zero position again, meaning another minute elapsed, the minute sub dial will move one mark. At the end of the event, press the top button again and both the large hand and the minute sub dial will stop. Now check the readings on the minute sub dial in addition to the number of seconds. Once you have recorded the duration of the race, press the reset button. The minute counter and the large hand are now back to its zero position and it's time for the next dash.
Some Chronographs may have additional sub dials. You might have one sub dial showing 3 or 12-hour calibrations. This counter records longer events, like airplane flights. It takes the large chronograph hand to circle the dial 60 times for this sub dial to move one notch, showing one hour elapsed.
You may realize that one of the sub dials moves rapidly when the stopwatch function is stopped. You are probably seeing tenths or hundredths of a second being measured.
